Owner, Accountant
Taylor is the owner of Bridging The Gap Financial Services LLC. Growing up she always had a strong interest in animals, reading, and entrepreneurship. Taylor often pretended to run an office instead of playing teacher like all the other kids her age. With an affinity for post-it notes and color-coordinated office supplies, she knew she eventually wanted to run her own business! In high school, Taylor participated in business groups, ran varsity track & field, volunteered locally (a lot), trained horses as a side business, and even competed nationally in public speaking contests through the FFA.
After her longtime interest in numbers and entrepreneurship, Taylor handled books in-house at a job after high school and it was then she knew that she was totally hooked. When Taylor and her high school sweetheart got married at 18 and later decided to have children Taylor knew it was important that she be home and flexible while raising a family. This was a non-negotiable for their family. From that point, she spent many sleepless nights and coffee-infused days earning an Associate's Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting while staying home and raising their young children. What a workload!
With her education and experience backing her, she finally opened her own firm, Bridging The Gap Financial Services LLC.
Since opening, Taylor has now also pursued a Master’s Degree in Accounting to further enhance her education. She continues to pursue additional certifications to help her clients succeed with plans to offer financial advisory and consulting services in the future! A lot of her clients tend to be farms or service-based businesses and it is genuinely fun to wake up every morning and see what new things her clients can come up with. Taylor's agricultural background has enabled her to really understand what her farmer client's pain points are and how she can help them the most while looking at the financial figures that will enable them to make the best decisions for their operations. Taylor continues to air on podcasts and spread her wonderful knowledge! She has aired on The Direct Farmer Podcast with Barn2Door & in November will be a guest on the My Digital Farmer podcast as well.
With an eye for detail and the flexibility to meet client demands on the fly, Taylor has produced an agile and very unique firm with truly incredible clients.
In her "spare" time Taylor homeschools their children and runs their small farm in the beautiful, rural mountains of Virginia. She also enjoys kayaking with her family, traveling, reading, and training the family’s horses. In the near future, Taylor will be participating in cowboy-mounted action shooting competitions with their horses and also wants to learn to play the fiddle.
